Need a report but not sure which one? Landlords, sellers and new work each need a different document.
Which certificate do I need?Good to know
01I'm a landlord. Do I need an EICR?
In England, private landlords must have the electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years, give a copy of the report to tenants (and to new tenants before they move in), and give it to the council within seven days if asked. Use the certificate checker or ring to book one.
02What's the difference between an EICR and an electrical installation certificate?
An EICR reports on the condition of wiring that is already there. An Electrical Installation Certificate is issued for new work, such as a new circuit or a new consumer unit. Small additions to an existing circuit get a Minor Works certificate.
03How much does a report or a repair cost?
It depends on the size of the property and the job, so ring or text for a quote. Reviewers describe the prices as affordable and very reasonable.
04Can you come at short notice?
Ring and ask. Reviewers mention prompt replies, quick booking and a job taken on at short notice, but it depends on what is already booked.
05The power has gone off. What should I do?
If it's just your home, check the fuse board for a tripped switch and ring. If the street is off too, it's a power cut: call 105, the free national power cut line.
06When can I reach you?
